For the IT department, we are looking for an employee with a focus on “Office IT” (m/f/d) from mid-2024
What is your task?
- You will be jointly responsible for the smooth functioning and operation of the various office IT software (MS Windows, MS Office, VMWare, databases), the associated network technology, servers, PCs, switches and mobile devices such as lap tops, cell phones and tablets (mobile device management) You will also ensure the monitoring and implementation of hardware and software updates, if necessary in consultation with external service providers
- You will ensure the optimal provision of our hardware, including servers, PC, printer, copier and network technology as well as cell phones.
- You are jointly responsible for compliance with the security requirements of GMVA, as well as the GDPR, the IT Security Act and the KRITIS Regulation in the IT sector
- You will test new IT products and introduce them to GMVA if necessary
- You will also be jointly responsible for the timely processing of existing tasks in our operations management system
What we expect
- You have completed training as an IT specialist or systems IT specialist or in a comparable profession
- Ideally, you have professional experience in this field, a high affinity for technology and a good command of English
- We work with virtual and physical servers and a variety of PC end devices as well as iPhones. You are just as familiar with this hardware as you are with the operation of networks.
- In office IT, we use MSO365 via an Exchange server. You are generally very familiar with the programs and know Outlook very well. You are also familiar with the functionality and structure of the program package.
- You have a high level of service orientation and a responsible working style.

GMVA offers you training opportunities in the following professional fields: Industrial clerk, electronics technician specializing in automation technology, electronics technician specializing in operating technology & construction mechanic.
Training at GMVA is expected to start on September 1, 2025 and you can already apply for one of the following professions:
Training as a construction mechanic at GMVA takes a total of three and a half years.
In addition to in-company training, trainees must also attend classes at the vocational school and inter-company factory training.
Trainees are taught the following activities:
Planning and preparing work tasks in a team
- Plan, prepare and organize work tasks in a team; coordinate work with upstream and downstream areas in the company
- Evaluate technical drawings and other documents and define machining processes or assembly plans
Working with components and metal structures
- Forming and separating components and metal structures from sheet metal, pipes or profiles, e.g. using thermal processes
- Joining sheet metal, pipes, profiles or assemblies, using various welding processes
- Assemble components and assemblies
- Dismantle metal structures
- Service, maintain and repair machines and tools; check electrical components of the control technology if necessary
Carry out quality controls
- Observe quality specifications, implement operational quality management guidelines, participate in the continuous improvement process
- Document work and results
Desired prerequisite:
- Advanced technical college entrance qualification
- Good knowledge of math and physics
- Technical interest
- Manual skills
- Logical thinking
- Ability to work in a team and a careful way of working
Internship offers
Our internship offers are wide-ranging and are aimed at both students and school pupils.
We offer students of engineering or business administration courses the opportunity to complete internships with us and, if necessary, to write their thesis in our company. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an eight-week basic internship for students. During your internship days at GMVA, you will get to know the electrical workshop, I&C workshop, laboratory, administration, metalworking shop and materials issue, among other things.
